Firearms Lawyer in Toronto

Aftermath Law provides firearms and gun charge advice to Toronto clients. If you hold a licence and also have an order or release term, identify both complete documents. Advice requires the actual item, count and wording; a valid-looking licence should not be treated as permission to disregard a separate operative restriction.

Keep licence and order records distinct

Preserve the licence with its relevant dates and the complete court or release papers, including changes. Identify which person and item each record concerns. A summary or cropped image may omit qualifications counsel needs to assess.

Describe the particular practical question

Explain whether the concern involves access, storage, handling or an item’s location, using the actual allegation. Point to the term you do not understand. Do not move or transfer an item contrary to law or restrictions while trying to reconcile the documents.

Ask about the interaction without assuming priority

Counsel needs to assess the applicable requirements and actual terms, not infer permission from one document in isolation. A consultation request does not change an order, classification or licence position. Keep current obligations in view while any specific review or further work is agreed.

Understand the legal questions before choosing a response

Firearm possession, authorization and storage or use are different questions. Keep the exact count, item description, relevant dates and available licence or other records. A licence or a shared location is relevant information, but neither answers every allegation. Classification and applicable requirements need case-specific assessment. Do not move, handle or transfer an item contrary to the law or current terms while trying to resolve the problem.

Preparing for the first conversation

  • Keep licence and order records distinct
  • Describe the particular practical question
  • Ask about the interaction without assuming priority

Keep the initial website enquiry brief. Do not upload or send sensitive documents through the form; arrange any document review directly with the firm.

You do not need every item before getting in touch. Mention any approaching court or response date.

Common questions

Should I send only the licence when my question concerns a court term?

Identify both complete documents and their dates. Counsel needs the actual restriction as well as the licence; one record alone may not address the practical question.

Can I act on the licence while waiting for advice about the order?

Do not disregard operative restrictions or the law. Describe the precise uncertainty and arrange advice before relying on an assumed permission.

Does a firearm licence answer every gun charge?

No. The actual item, count, dates and circumstances need review. Keep the licence and related records, without assuming they resolve possession, storage or other allegations.

Should I move the item to fix a storage concern?

Do not handle, move or transfer it contrary to the law or current terms. Explain the circumstances and any immediate issue to counsel so lawful steps can be considered.
