Contacting the firm and beginning representation
Visiting this website, submitting a form, emailing or calling Aftermath Law does not automatically create a lawyer-client relationship.
Under the firm’s engagement process, representation begins only after conflicts clearance and a written retainer confirming that the firm has agreed to act and defining the work it will undertake. An enquiry or consultation request is not acceptance of your matter.
This describes the firm’s intake process. It does not exclude any duties that arise under applicable law or professional obligations.
Initial enquiries and confidential information
Do not submit confidential documents, evidence or a detailed sensitive history through the website. Until the firm confirms engagement and explains how to provide information, do not assume that material submitted through a form will be treated as a confidential communication within an established lawyer-client relationship.
Professional duties concerning prospective-client information may nevertheless apply. Nothing in this disclaimer waives those duties or any protection that applies by law.
Forms, emergencies and deadlines
The forms send enquiries through an email-delivery service. A “Request Sent” message confirms acceptance by that service, not that a lawyer has read your request, accepted your matter or agreed to take a particular step.
Do not use the forms for emergencies, to meet a limitation period or to obtain action before a court or other legal deadline. Entering a date in a form does not create a deadline-monitoring service. Sending an enquiry does not extend a deadline or require the firm to act before it.
If you need prompt assistance, contact a lawyer directly and confirm whether they can act in time. Website availability does not promise an immediate response.
