About this policy
Aftermath Law Professional Corporation, operating as Aftermath Law, provides Criminal Law and Family Law services from its Mississauga office. This policy explains how personal information is handled when you visit this website or make an enquiry.
Dildeep Sahi is responsible for privacy inquiries. You can contact him at dsahi@aftermathlaw.ca or (647) 223-1980.
Information collected through the forms
The forms request your full name and enquiry type, with an email address or telephone number so the firm can contact you. You may provide both contact details. Service-page forms automatically identify the relevant service and page.
A brief message is optional on all enquiry forms.
All enquiry types use the same contact fields. The current forms do not ask for contact-safety choices or a preferred contact method.
The system receives a generated submission identifier and a security-check token. The current forms do not ask you to tick a privacy-acknowledgement box. A hidden field helps detect automated submissions.
Please provide only enough information to identify your enquiry. Do not include identification documents, financial account details, evidence or a detailed confidential history. The forms do not accept attachments.
How an enquiry reaches the firm
Submitting a form sends its information to the website’s server for validation and security checks. If those checks pass, the server uses Resend to transmit an email to dsahi@aftermathlaw.ca. Aftermath Law receives and stores its email through Microsoft 365 and accesses it using Outlook.
Resend receives the submitted contact details, enquiry information, relevant page and service, and any instructions you include in your message as part of the email. It also processes addressing information and a technical identifier used to prevent duplicate messages. Resend may store message content, delivery records and associated logs. This policy does not promise that message-content storage is disabled. Resend’s message-management documentation
“Request Sent” means the delivery service accepted the request. It does not confirm that the lawyer has read it, that a consultation has been arranged or that the firm has accepted your matter.
The website does not send an automatic email or text acknowledgement to you.
Contact safety
The firm may use the email address or telephone number you supply to respond to your enquiry. An email address supplied through the current form is included as the reply-to address in the message delivered to the firm.
Using this website cannot make a shared or monitored device private. Browsing history and other records of your visit may remain on the device.
Purposes of collection and use
The firm uses enquiry information to respond, consider whether it can assist, check for conflicts and arrange consultations. Information may also be needed to meet legal and professional obligations or address security incidents and disputes.
Submitting an enquiry authorizes the processing described here for those purposes. It does not subscribe you to marketing communications or create a lawyer-client relationship.
Hosting and security services
This website is hosted through ChatGPT Sites, an OpenAI service, using associated Cloudflare infrastructure, including Workers and D1. Hosting infrastructure processes requests to display pages and handle submissions. Technical information may include IP addresses, requested pages, browser information, request times and response status.
Cloudflare Turnstile helps distinguish visitors from automated traffic. It processes device and network signals, including IP address, browser information and the website origin. Cloudflare describes using these signals to provide and improve its bot-detection service. The website’s server sends the Turnstile token for verification; it does not include your contact fields or message in that verification request. Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum
D1 stores records for rate limiting, duplicate protection and submission status. These include keyed hashes derived from an IP address, email address, submission identifier and enquiry payload, together with counters, status and expiry information. The database does not store readable names, email addresses, telephone numbers, messages or contact instructions. These security identifiers should not be understood as anonymous data.
Application diagnostic messages use fixed processing stages and result categories. They do not include enquiry contents, contact details, security tokens or raw IP addresses. Hosting providers may maintain separate technical records.
Browser storage and features not used
The form application holds entered information in page memory. It does not save form contents in local or session storage or place them in URLs. Your browser, device or browser extensions may retain information through their own features.
The website application has no visitor analytics integration, advertising pixels, mailing list, online payments, file uploads or client accounts. Hosting and security services may nevertheless use technical storage or cookies. Any sign-in required for an owner-only preview is a platform access control, not a client account with Aftermath Law.
You may telephone or email the firm instead of using a form. An email you send directly is also handled by your own email provider.
Processing outside Canada
Information may be processed or stored outside Canada by hosting, security and email providers or their service providers. It may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of those jurisdictions. The firm does not promise Canadian-only processing or storage and remains accountable for personal information under its control. Canadian privacy guidance on cross-border processing
Retention
The firm will retain enquiry and correspondence records only as long as needed for their identified purposes and applicable legal or professional obligations. An initial enquiry, a conflicts record and a retained client file may require different treatment. When information is no longer required, the firm will arrange appropriate deletion or disposal, subject to preservation obligations and available provider controls.
D1 security records have operational expiry times. Expiry is not immediate deletion. The application attempts to remove expired records in limited batches after successful submissions. Records may remain longer during inactivity, if cleanup fails or in provider recovery copies.
The website does not automatically delete messages from Resend or Microsoft 365. Email, delivery logs, deleted items, archives and recovery copies are subject to the firm’s handling practices and applicable provider settings. No fixed deletion period across these systems is promised.
Safeguards
The form system uses server-side validation, same-origin submission controls, bot verification, rate limiting and duplicate protection. It excludes enquiry contents from its application diagnostic messages.
These controls reduce particular risks but do not guarantee confidentiality or security. Please ask the firm how to provide sensitive material before sending it.
Privacy questions and requests
Contact Dildeep Sahi to ask about the firm’s collection, use, disclosure or retention of your information, request access or correction, raise a privacy concern, or discuss withdrawing consent to further use where applicable.
The firm may need to verify your identity. Requests are handled subject to applicable law, professional obligations and the rights of others. Withdrawing consent may affect the firm’s ability to respond or provide services and does not necessarily require deletion of records that must be retained.
