Mischief Lawyer in Vaughan
Aftermath Law provides mischief advice to Vaughan clients. If the same property appears in records from different dates, identify each event and condition separately. Counsel needs to know what the allegation attributes to this incident, rather than assume every later problem came from it.

Identify the event actually charged
Keep the count and alleged date alongside your recollection. If several incidents are discussed, give each a separate outline and source. Do not merge a later report with an earlier observation or present a date inferred from a photograph as confirmed.
Compare condition records chronologically
Preserve dated photographs, maintenance records and complaints already lawfully available. Explain what each source shows and any limits. A later image may record a changed condition without explaining when the change occurred or who caused it.
Separate repair proposals from the incident history
Keep estimates, completed work and offers identified by their dates. Do not alter a condition record to reflect a later repair. Counsel can assess the alleged damage or interference and intent; a combined repair total or shared ownership does not automatically resolve the charge.
Understand the legal questions before choosing a response
Mischief allegations can concern damage or interference with property use. The actual count, conduct, property and permission need assessment; a photograph of damage may not describe every issue. Joint ownership does not automatically answer the allegation. Preserve the condition and use records, and keep any repair or payment proposal separate from current restrictions and the criminal response.
Preparing for the first conversation
- Identify the event actually charged
- Compare condition records chronologically
- Separate repair proposals from the incident history
Keep the initial website enquiry brief. Do not upload or send sensitive documents through the form; arrange any document review directly with the firm.
You do not need every item before getting in touch. Mention any approaching court or response date.
Common questions
Should I treat every defect in a later photograph as part of the charged incident?
No. Identify the photograph’s date and what you actually know about each condition. Counsel needs to assess the connection, including gaps in the history.
What if the same repair document refers to several events?
Preserve it complete and identify the references you can distinguish. Do not divide or relabel the original; explain the uncertainty separately.
Must there be broken property for a mischief allegation?
No. An allegation may concern interference with use as well as damage. Have the exact count and the account of what happened available for legal assessment.
Does owning the property mean the allegation can be ignored?
No. Ownership, any other interests, permission and the alleged conduct need review. Do not assume shared ownership or a repair offer answers the criminal issue.
