Firearms Lawyer in Burlington
A firearms case may involve several items and several counts. For a Burlington matter, keep the seizure list, charge wording and existing licence or authorization records together before trying to explain everything as one “gun charge.” Aftermath Law can review the allegations and discuss what item-specific evidence and current restrictions require attention.

Create one entry for each item on the papers
Use the descriptions recorded in the documents, marking any mismatch or uncertainty. Note where each item was said to be found and which count appears to concern it. Do not assume that a description supplied by police settles classification or operability. Those questions require the appropriate evidence and law for the alleged date.
Keep existing authorization records in their original form
Gather documents already held, including dates, correspondence and any relevant order. A licence may be important without answering every possession, storage or use allegation. Explain which document concerns which item and what you cannot locate. Avoid filling gaps with a general belief that all firearms were covered by the same permission.
Ask how evidence can be reviewed without handling property
Do not move, collect or transfer an item to demonstrate your account where that would conflict with the law or an order. Existing photographs, seizure notes and records can be discussed first. Tell counsel about current weapons terms and any property request. Representation in a criminal case does not itself authorize possession or return of seized property.
Preparing for the first conversation
- Charge papers and seizure list, with unclear item descriptions marked.
- Existing licence, registration or other authorization records.
- Alleged dates and the location associated with each item.
- Current weapons restrictions and relevant earlier orders.
Keep the initial website enquiry brief. Do not upload or send sensitive documents through the form; arrange any document review directly with the firm.
You do not need every item before getting in touch. Mention any approaching court or response date.
Common questions
Does my licence answer every firearms count?
No. Its relevance depends on the exact item, provision, dates and circumstances. Keep the document for review without assuming it resolves all allegations.
Should I bring a firearm to the consultation?
Do not bring or handle an item to illustrate the case. Arrange the review of papers and existing records, and ask counsel about any property issue.
What if the seizure description appears wrong?
Mark the discrepancy and explain why you noticed it. Preserve the original document; classification and identification should be assessed on the evidence.
